Česká zemědělská univerzita v Praze diploma
Founded in 1906 as the Faculty of Agriculture of the Czech Polytechnic University in Prague, the Czech University of Life Sciences (Česká zemědělská univerzita v Praze, ČZU) became an independent institution in 1952 and adopted its current name in 1995. Faculties and Student Population
The university comprises six faculties and one institute: the Faculty of Economics and Management, the Faculty of Agricultural Biotechnology, Food and Natural Resources, the Faculty of Environmental Sciences, the Faculty of Forestry and Wood Sciences, the Faculty of Engineering, the Faculty of Tropical Agricultural Sciences, and the Institute of Education and Communication. Currently, it has approximately 20,000 students, nearly 30% of whom are international students. It is the only university in Prague with a full campus.
Degree System and Program Offerings
CZU offers a three-tiered degree system in accordance with the Bologna Process:
Bachelor’s Degree: 3 years, awarded upon completion of the national bachelor’s examinations and dissertation defense, with the title Bc. (Bachelor of Science). The university offers approximately 220 accredited programs, about half of which are undergraduate programs, and 53 are taught in English. Tuition fees for English-taught undergraduate programs in the Business School are approximately €2,600/year, while agriculture-related programs are approximately €2,280/year. EU students pay only approximately €500/year.
Master’s Degree: 2 years, bridging to the bachelor’s degree program, awarding the title Ing. (Engineer) upon graduation, equivalent to an international MSc. degree. The master’s program offers approximately 45 English-taught programs covering fields such as economics, informatics, and environmental science. Tuition fees for non-EU students are approximately €3,200/year.
Doctoral Degree: 4 years, for master’s graduates, focusing on scientific research and academic development.

CZU enjoys an international reputation in agriculture and forestry: ranked 64th globally in the 2024 QS Subject Rankings and 761-770 in the QS World University Rankings.
