The Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) is one of Singapore’s six public universities and an applied research-focused institution with a core emphasis on the social sciences. Its origins date back to the Singapore Institute of Management, established in 1964; it was formally upgraded to a public university and renamed in 2017, adopting its current name in 2024. Its motto is “Lifelong Education, Giving Back to Society.”
The university upholds the “3H” educational philosophy, aiming to cultivate well-rounded individuals through professional competence (Head), social consciousness (Heart), and the habit of lifelong learning (Habit). SUSS comprises the School of Business, School of Humanities and Behavioural Sciences, S R Nathan School of Human Development, School of Law, School of Science and Technology, and the College of Graduate Studies. It offers over 100 undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and currently has a student population of approximately 15,800, including more than 2,200 postgraduate students. As a champion of lifelong learning, SUSS is renowned for its flexible curriculum and practice-oriented teaching, producing graduates with strong employability.
