This program offers three admission pathways: direct application for freshmen, internal transfer within the School of Engineering (GPA ≥ 3.5), and transfer from EECS. Interdisciplinary Graduate Education: Designated Emphasis and Certificate Programs in New Media The Berkeley Center for New Media (BCNM) offers a Designated Emphasis in New Media to all doctoral students, a Graduate Certificate in New Media for Master’s students, and an Undergraduate Certificate in New Media (non-transcriptional). These programs emphasize analyzing the social impact of future media from multidisciplinary perspectives encompassing arts, humanities, social sciences, and engineering. The Berkeley Global Visiting Scholar Program offers semester-long courses at the Haas School of Business to international students. Undergraduates are required to complete at least 7 Haas credits (including Artificial Intelligence, Climate Change and Business Strategy, International Marketing, etc.), while graduate students are required to complete 9 credits of advanced courses (including Product Management, Data Science and Financial Applications, Entrepreneurship, etc.). Students who complete two consecutive terms will receive a program certificate and can apply for an OPT (Optional Practical Training) visa for up to 12 months. The Master of Development Practice (MDP) is a two-year interdisciplinary program focusing on sustainable development, global health, and poverty governance.
